Information for Muslim Women

Qalballah, a member of our service, has started a Group for Muslim women who suffer Post Natal Illness. She says:

“There is a verse from the Qur’an which states ‘For every hardship there is relief’ and ‘for every disease there is a cure’, but for those women who have experienced Post Natal Illness these promises seem to remote to be true.

PNI is a confusing and frightening mix of symptoms and the sufferer can feel isolated and bewildered. Within the Muslim community too, misunderstanding of the illness leads many women to go without the help and the support they need as issues are ignored, trivialised or sidelined.

Now there is a Yahoo! group run by Muslim survivors of Post Natal Illness to offer sisterly advice and comfort for others who are currently wading through this terrible test.

Together we can help you get through, get the support you need and offer all help we can”.
